This page sets out the terms specific to Yosomi, the Windows app. Anything not covered here is governed by the tanmen.work Terms of Service (referred to below as the platform terms). Installing or using Yosomi means agreeing to both the platform terms and this page.
Relationship to the platform terms
This page is a service-specific supplement to the platform terms. Prohibited conduct, intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability, changes to and discontinuation of the service, governing law and jurisdiction are all governed by the platform terms as written there. Personal information is handled as set out in the Yosomi privacy policy and the tanmen.work privacy policy. Changes to this page follow the procedure set out under "Changes to these Terms" in the platform terms.
Licence
Yosomi is provided free of charge. You may use it on devices where you installed it in accordance with the Microsoft Store terms; there is no device limit. The licence is non-exclusive and non-transferable, and it transfers no rights in Yosomi to you. Whether you may copy, modify, decompile, redistribute or lend it is governed by the prohibited conduct set out in the platform terms.
How it is distributed
Yosomi is distributed through the Microsoft Store only. A file offered anywhere else does not come from us, may have been modified, and should not be used. Updates also arrive through the Microsoft Store. Because Yosomi keeps running in the tray, an update can sit unapplied until the next restart; "Update and restart" in the tray menu applies it.
What Yosomi handles
Yosomi reads notification content only while Windows notification access is granted, and holds it in memory while the app runs. What it stores on your device is your settings alone — no notification content. Yosomi itself makes no network connections and sends nothing anywhere. The one exception is the Microsoft Store update check, which is an exchange between Windows and the Store. The privacy policy has the detail.
Things to know before you rely on it
Given what Yosomi does, keep the following in mind.
- Yosomi needs Windows notification access. While that permission is not granted, it receives no notifications.
- It is built to be used together with Windows silent mode. Without it, the same notification appears both as a standard toast and in Yosomi.
- Dismiss on a notification card also removes that notification from the Windows notification centre.
- Yosomi is meant to draw over other apps, games included. It does not inject code into or otherwise interfere with another app’s process — it only draws a window of its own. That said, some games and services restrict placing another window over their screen. Checking whether you may use it there is yours to do, as set out under "Responsibilities of the User" in the platform terms.
- Yosomi redraws notifications Windows has already delivered. Display duration, your filter settings and the state of Windows itself can all mean a notification is never shown, so it is not suited to being the channel you depend on for messages you must not miss.
Price
Yosomi is currently free of charge. If a paid feature is introduced, it will be announced here and on tanmen.work beforehand.
